JRTM, has taken plagiarism seriously. From 2018 the journal has adhered to screening of all submitted articles for plagiarism check through advanced softwares available with publishers. The journal stands with the authors in the need of guiding them on how to prevent plagiarism. The journal has installed pre submission plagiarism checking software ithenticate in the author submission page itself, where authors can screen their manuscript prior submission itself at a minimal cost.

Plagiarism is a form of unethical work which occurs with or without the knowledge of an individual. The definition of plagiarism as per various dictionaries sums that Plagiarism is "Utilizing other's work or ideas and claim them as one's own."  

Types of Plagiarism: 

1. Word to Word Copying

2. Copying the contents by changing the words even by given credit by quoting there work as reference. 

3. Copying others Idea/Concept/Novelty and using as own's one without credit or permission

4. Change of Authorship of other works

5. Self Plagiarism  

6. Giving incorrect or false information about the source of information

Journals Policy on Plagiarism

The journals apprach in managing the manuscript which have plagiarism is grouped into as follows, 

• Manuscripts with <5% of plagiarism is taken up for review and along with the editorial and peer review comments, the details of plagiarism will be informed to the authors. 
• Manuscripts with 5 - 25% of plagiarism is taken up for only editorial review and the comments along with the details of plagiarism will be informed to the authors. 
• Manuscripts with 25% - 50% of plagiarism will not be taken to any sort of review. The article will be sent back to authors with details of plagiarism and ask for revision with specified time span.
• Manuscripts  with >50% of plagiarism will be rejected. 

Plagiarism after publication 

Upon identification or information regarding plagiarism on any published work, the editorial board will conduct its own investigation and suitable actions leading to retraction of the article will be initiated on finding the level of plagiarism.
